Your first stop will be Cape Town, affectionately known as the 'Mother City'. It is one of the world's great cities with a whole host of must see attractions such as the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, Table Mountain, The Cape of Good Hope and the townships.
From Cape Town to Pretoria you will travel on board one of South Africa's most luxurious trains, the Blue Train, which has an aura of mystique about it. Kings and presidents have travelled on this magnificent moving five-star hotel. Its very name has become synonymous with the ultimate in luxury and personal service.
Known as the Jacaranda City for all the purple blossom-bedecked trees, which line its thoroughfares, Pretoria is a lovely, quiet city. It has a long, involved and fascinating history. Here you will find significant old buildings and fascinating museums to explore.
Finally to the heart of the Kruger National Park and Jock Safari Lodge. Jock Safari Lodge reflects the elegance of this bygone era. With the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers as backdrop, it offers a bushveld setting to behold in an area famed for its big five sightings.
Itinerary
Day 1 : Heathrow - Cape Town
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Cape Town.
Day 2 : Cape Town
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the 5 Sun The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town (25km).
Cape Town is known as the 'Mother City' of South Africa and its location at the tip of Africa surrounded by mountains and the ocean must surely make it one of the world's most beautiful cities. (B)
Days 3 : Cape Town
A free day, perhaps take the ferry to Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Overnight: The Table Bay Hotel. (B)
Days 4 : Cape Town
A second free day, perhaps spend time relaxing or shopping at the V&A Waterfront. Overnight: The Table Bay Hotel. (B)
Day 5 : Blue Train
Board the luxurious Blue Train for a 27-hour, 1600km journey from Cape Town to Pretoria through spectacular scenery. Watch the country go by from your sumptuous suite and enjoy gourmet meals accompanied by the finest South African wines. (AI)
Day 6 : Pretoria
On arrival in Pretoria you will be met and transferred to the 5 Sun Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria where the remainder of the day is free to relax. Overnight: Sheraton Pretoria. (B)
Day 7 : Kruger National Park
Transfer to OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg for your flight to the Kruger National Park. On arrival you will be transferred to the 5 Sun Jock Safari Lodge, located in the southern reaches of the Kruger National Park, where you will have time to freshen up before an afternoon game drive. Day 8 : Kruger National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles with time in between to relax. Or take a short walk into the area surrounding the camp accompanied by your ranger. Overnight: Jock Safari Lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : Depart Kruger National Park
After the morning game and breakfast, there is time to freshen up before transferring to Kruger Mpumalanga International airport for your return flight via Johannesburg to Heathrow. (B)
