Saturday - Monday : Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok. The "City of Angels" is yours to explore for two days. A visit to the awe inspiring Grand Palace is included, while the colourful markets and vibrant nightlife will also make your visit unforgettable. Other optional tours available.

Tuesday : Eastern & Oriental Express
Board the Eastern & Oriental Express for the Bangkok - Chiang Mai journey (Pullman Superior). Depart Bangkok early in the afternoon. Relax in the bar car, the saloon car or the privacy of your own compartment. Afternoon tea is served as you travel into northern Thailand. Enjoy dinner and the first night on board.

Wednesday : Eastern & Oriental Express
After breakfast, the train arrives in Chiang Mai, where you disembark. A choice of experiences awaits you - a tour of the city and temples, a trip to an elephant camp or a visit to the many handicraft workshops and boutiques for which Chiang Mai is famous. Lunch is taken during your chosen excursion. Return to the train for afternoon tea, before dinner and a further night on board.

Thursday : Eastern & Oriental Express
The train arrives this morning in Sawankhalok, where you visit Si Satchanalai, part of the northernmost citadel of the ancient Khmer empire. Explore the impressive 13th-century Buddhist temples. Return to the train at Sila At for lunch as your journey continues. Disembark at Lampang in the afternoon for a horse-drawn carriage ride to Baan Sao Nok - "the house of many pillars". Enjoy tea as you tour the house, built in traditional Lana style. Return to the train to prepare for dinner and a final night on board.

Friday to Monday : Napasai, Koh Samui
On the train's return to Bangkok, transfer to the airport and fly to the island of Koh Samui. Stay for four nights relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Thailand at Orient-Express-owned Napasai (see below). Sea view hill cottage.

Tuesday : Departure
Tuesday return flight to Bangkok.
