Featuring a one-way journey from London to Venice on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, with one night in London and four nights in Venice at the Hotel Cipriani.
Day 1 : London
Arrive and check in independently at London's five-star Goring Hotel. This quintessentially English residence, with its beautiful garden, is a delightful hideaway at the very heart of London.
Visit the National Gallery to meet your host for the trip, an expert with in-depth knowledge of Venice and Italian art. Enjoy a guided visit of Canaletto paintings and other works reflecting on the life of the Venetians. This is followed by a drink at the bar before an evening at leisure.

Day 2 : Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
Board the gleaming carriages of the British Pullman at London Victoria station, before transferring to the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express once you've crossed the Channel. Table d'hôte meals accompanied by fine wines with lunch and dinner are included.
Breakfast, brunch and dinner included. Overnight on board.
Day 3 : Venice
Relax and enjoy some of Europe's most beautiful scenery as the train travels to Italy. Arrive in Venice for a four-night stay at the iconic Hotel Cipriani with its views of Doge's Palace - a familiar sight in many of Canaletto's works. Enjoy the evening at leisure - why not sip a glass of Prosecco beside the hotel pool?

Day 4 : Venice
Walk along Venice's delightful alleyways and quaysides to the locations featured in Canaletto's major paintings, including Scuola di San Rocco and the Chiesa di San Vidal. After a light lunch in a local restaurant, there is an optional visit to the Accademia Gallery which is close by. Return to the hotel for dinner which is included.

Day 5 : Venice
Today travel into the Veneto region to visit Villa Pisani, an impressive building with a grand ballroom decorated with frescos by Tiepolo. Return to Venice in time for a light lunch and a visit to Scuola Grande dei Carmini before returning to the hotel. A special evening is arranged tonight including dinner and a concert featuring music composed during Canaletto's era.

Day 6 : Venice
This morning you visit Ca' rezzonico, a grand palazzo that is now the museum of 18th-century Venice. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to relax, explore, shop or visit the studio of a local artist. Enjoy a farewell dinner in high style tonight with your fellow travellers at the Hotel Cipriani.

Day 7 : London
A journey by motorboat to Venice airport provides your last glimpse of this magical city as you cross the lagoon. It is the perfect moment to reflect on all the wonders seen - and make a resolution to return and discover more.
