The Golden Age of Travel

Your initial glance heightens the anticipation: carriages gleaming in umber and cream livery, stewards resplendent in their immaculate uniforms, waiting to welcome you aboard.

This is the Belmond British Pullman, the sister train of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and one of the most stately trains in the world. It's like stepping back in time. Over a century ago, George Mortimer Pullman recognised that his passengers desired unrestrained luxury and comfort. He tasked the finest craftsmen of the era with constructing what he called "Palaces on Wheels."

Your steward will guide you to your reserved seat in one of eleven carriages, each an original masterpiece from the 1920s or 1930s, with its own name and unique personality. On board, passengers are seated in either coupés — small compartments seating up to four people — or the open car, mostly at tables for two.

Your table is set with starched white cloths, shining silver and glittering glass.

The cuisine is exquisite, crafted by master chefs and accompanied by fine wines chosen to perfectly complement your meal. Every dish celebrates the finest flavours of the regions you travel through, offering an unparalleled culinary journey.

Historic Art Deco Carriages

Each carriage of the Belmond British Pullman is an original masterpiece from the 1920s or 1930s, restored with breathtaking attention to detail. Rare timber veneers, custom-loomed fabrics, and solid brass fittings transport passengers back to the golden age of travel.

The carriages are adorned with intricate marquetry, inlaid mosaic floors, sparkling crystal, and beautiful Art Deco designs. Each has its own name, unique personality, and colourful history. Some have even carried royalty and appeared on the silver screen. Whether it's the glamour of Audrey or the sophistication of Cygnus, each carriage offers a distinct experience steeped in history and elegance.

The train can accommodate up to 226 passengers, with 10 parlour cars and kitchen cars, each carriage seating between 20 and 26 passengers — offering a perfect blend of intimacy and exclusivity.
