The Britannic Explorer offers five distinct itineraries, all departing from London Victoria. Three three-night tours explore Wales, the Lake District and Cornwall respectively, each returning four days later having covered some of the most varied and beautiful scenery in Britain. For those with more time, two six-night journeys combine two regions in a single extended adventure.

The train crosses into Wales and travels through landscapes that have few equals in Britain. The journey takes in the Brecon Beacons, the Heart of Wales Line, Snowdonia National Park and the Pembrokeshire coast, with excursions including a guided hike through the Welsh heartlands and a visit to a lavender farm. The final evening is spent in the Cotswolds before the return to London.
This itinerary crosses the Severn Estuary into Wales, follows the south coast through Cardiff and Swansea, travels the Heart of Wales Line through Carmarthenshire and Powys, and reaches the mountains of Snowdonia before returning south through the Cotswolds. Every day brings something different, and the Welsh landscape in autumn is very hard to improve on.
The train travels north through Yorkshire to rest overnight on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in Bronte country before heading into the Lake District the following morning. Excursions include Graythwaite Estate on the shores of Windermere and an exclusive visit to Simon Rogan's farm in the Cartmel Valley. A three-Michelin-starred dinner at The Waterside Inn in Bray provides an exceptional final evening.
The train travels through Somerset on a heritage railway before following the Riviera Line along the Devon coast and into Cornwall. Excursions include St Ives with access to the Tate gallery, the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens near Penzance, and time in the harbour town of Fowey. The final evening is a private dinner at Hauser and Wirth Somerset in Bruton, one of the finest contemporary art galleries in the country.
The two most dramatic three-night itineraries combined into a single seven-day journey. Travel north to the Lake District, with Graythwaite Estate and Simon Rogan's farm, before heading into Wales for the Heart of Wales Line, Snowdonia and the Pembrokeshire coast. An exceptional way to see both regions without the need to pack and unpack.

It then returns to London for a midday pause before heading west into Wales for three more autumn days, ending with a private evening at The Fox at Oddington.

The Riviera Line, the Cornish coast, Fowey and Hauser and Wirth Somerset are followed by the Heart of Wales Line, Snowdonia and the Pembrokeshire coast. A week of genuinely varied scenery, exceptional food and some of the finest excursions available on any luxury train in Britain.
