Historic Bath

Your journey takes you to the historic city of Bath. The hot springs first attracted the Romans to build the spa of Aqua Sulis, and the remains of the baths and other archaeological finds can be seen here. In Saxon times, King Offa founded an abbey at Bath, where King Edgar was crowned in 973. Bath's fashionable heyday came in the 18th century, when Beau Nash regulated the bathing and constructed the assembly rooms and theatres. Today, Bath is Britain's best preserved Georgian city.

The Roman Baths and Pump Room are one of the best preserved Roman sites north of the Alps, where hot mineral water rises from a spring at a temperature of 46°C. Explore the beauty of the Ancient Roman's architecture and art, and don't forget to sample the spa water from the Spa Fountain in the Grand Pump Room.

Historic Canterbury

Whether its visiting one of the many historic buildings, colleges or museums, going out for a drink or a meal, taking in a show or shopping till you drop.

Great British Seaside

As the journey begins, your steward serves you a sparkling Bellini, followed by a delicious brunch. Relax and absorb the scenery through your picture window as the train winds its way through the English countryside. Arriving at your seaside destination, enjoy free time to explore at your leisure. You may wish to explore the town or simply take a stroll along the seafront, perhaps stopping for a coffee to soak up the ambience. You're welcomed back on board with a glass of chilled champagne. Linger over a delectable three-course dinner with half a bottle of wine as you travel back to London.

Margate

The vibrant seaside town of Margate is known for its sandy beach and is home to a world-class art gallery, and has been a traditional holiday destination for at least 250 years. Enjoy its sandy beaches, fish n' chips, seafood stalls and shore-side rides, all with a hip new twist. Capture a famous Turner sunset whilst settled on the seafront steps or a seafront bar, cafe or restaurant. It also boasts a dynamic Old Town with a large array of vintage shops and a traditional seafront.

Broadstairs

The charming seaside town of Broadstairs gives you seven sandy beaches and bucket loads of seaside charm. Here, you can rediscover the joy of having fun beside the seashore. You'll find fishermen's cottages, clifftop walks and independent shops lining unspoilt streets. Located on Kent's Thanet coastline and home to the picturesque Viking Bay, Broadstairs was one of novelist Charles Dickens favourite holiday spots.

Whitstable

The charming seaside town of Whitstable is known for being Kent's Oyster Central and having an enigmatic seaside charm. Whitstable's heritage is in fishing and shipbuilding, and its 19th-century harbour is still a fully working port. Simply take a seat and watch the world go by as fisherman set sail for their next catch.

Hastings

The seaside town of Hastings is steeped in history. Synonymous with the 1066 Battle of Hastings, marking the defeat of Anglo-Saxon King Harold II by the Norman forces of William the Conqueror. The recently renovated pier won the prestigious Stirling prize for architecture in 2017. Take a stroll down and breath in the fresh sea air on the modern observatory platform.
