The sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, the British Pullman operates a programme of day excursions from London Victoria, taking guests to castles, stately homes, racecourses, wineries and cultural events across southern England. All eleven carriages are original vehicles from the 1920s and 1930s, each with its own name and individual Art Deco interior. Passengers are welcomed aboard by a personal steward and shown to their reserved seat at a table, where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner is served over the course of the journey.
Excursions include Highclere Castle, Chatsworth House, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Grand National, Champagne Afternoon Tea departures, murder mystery evenings and the full range of formal celebrations. Fares include all meals, wines and on-board entertainment.
The Britannic Explorer is Britain's newest luxury overnight train, offering three-night and six-night journeys through England and Wales. Passengers stay in private suites ranging from Twin and Double Suites to spacious Grand Suites, all individually designed. The train carries a maximum of around 50 guests. Dining is overseen by Chef Simon Rogan MBE, one of Britain's most celebrated proponents of farm-to-fork cooking, and the menus reflect the landscapes the train passes through.
Itineraries include a three-night Wales tour through Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia, a three-night Lake District journey including a dinner at a three-Michelin-starred restaurant, a three-night Cornwall tour from the Riviera Line to Hauser and Wirth in Bruton, and six-night combinations. A Wellness Suite on board offers spa treatments throughout the journey.
The Royal Scotsman is widely regarded as one of the most luxurious trains in the world. It operates round trips from Edinburgh Waverley through the Scottish Highlands, carrying a maximum of 36 guests in State Cabins and Grand Suites. Every cabin has its own en suite bathroom, and the fully inclusive fare covers accommodation, all meals with wine, all off-train excursions and on-board entertainment. The train visits castles, distilleries and Highland estates that are inaccessible by any other means, and the service is personal to a degree that is rarely found anywhere.
Journeys range from two nights to seven nights, with itineraries covering the western Highlands, the Scotch Malt Whisky Trail, the Cairngorms, the islands and grand tours of the country. The on-board spa provides treatments as the mountains pass by, and a local Highlander provides evening entertainment in the Edwardian Observation Car.
The Northern Belle was created to bring the glamour of the great Belle trains of the 1930s to the north of England. Its seven carriages are named after the finest British country houses and are finished to an exceptionally high standard with marquetry panelling, bespoke carpets, fine china and silverware. Unlike the British Pullman, the Northern Belle departs from cities across the north of England, including Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Edinburgh, making it accessible to guests who are not based in London.
A programme of themed dining excursions, celebrity chef events and special occasion departures runs throughout the year. The train is also available for private charter for weddings, corporate events and celebrations of all kinds.
