The Golden Eagle Silk Road Express is the newest train in the fleet, purpose-built to carry travellers along the fabled Silk Road in a style the region has never seen before, marking a long-awaited return to these routes after a break of several years.
This is a fully en-suite private touring train designed from the ground up for the modern luxury traveller. Where the historic Silk Road once carried silk, spices and ideas between East and West, the train now carries a small number of guests in genuine comfort across Central Asia and into China, pairing the romance of these ancient routes with the space, technology and finish of a train built for today. Two beautifully appointed classes of cabin, two restaurant cars, an opulent bar lounge and an observation car make it a self-contained world of comfort between the great cities of the Silk Road.

Dining on Board
The Silk Road Express has two restaurant cars, each with its own character. The Western-style car serves in the five-star silver-service tradition, while the Chinese-style car offers intimate booth seating in a calm and elegant setting. Menus draw on both the regional cuisines of the countries the train passes through and refined Western dishes, so every meal is a little journey in itself. In-cabin dining can be arranged on request, and complimentary drinks from the bar accompany your meals.

The Bar Lounge and Observation Car
The opulent bar lounge car is the social heart of the train, where guests gather over a drink to compare the day's discoveries, settle in for the evening and watch the landscape slip by. Complimentary beverages are included throughout, excluding the premium wine list. Alongside it, an observation car opens the train up to the vast horizons of the Silk Road, the deserts, mountains and steppe that give these journeys their romance, from a comfortable vantage point made for taking it all in.
Service and Staff
As on every Golden Eagle train, first-class service comes as standard aboard the Silk Road Express, delivered by a dedicated team whose only concern is that you want for nothing.
Cabin Attendant
A cabin attendant looks after your cabin throughout the journey, preparing it on boarding, turning down the bed each evening and attending to any request.
Tour Manager
An experienced Tour Manager travels with the group, organising the off-train excursion programme and keeping everything running smoothly from city to city.
Chef & Restaurant Team
A skilled chef and restaurant team prepare and serve every meal on board, in both the Western and Chinese-style restaurant cars.
