Hotel Paris Prague, Old Town

★★★★★

Hotel Paris Prague

Five Star

The Hotel Paris is one of the most distinctive buildings in Prague: a family-run five-star hotel built in 1904 in Neo-Gothic style with Art Nouveau elements, standing directly opposite the Municipal House on the edge of Old Town and New Town. It has been a significant address in Prague for over a century, and the building's elaborate ceramic and terracotta exterior, with its turrets and carved details, is one of the most photographed facades in the city. The Republic Square Metro stop is directly adjacent, and Old Town Square is a few minutes' walk.

The 86 rooms and suites are furnished with replicas of the original Art Nouveau pieces from when the hotel opened, the tiled bathrooms have underfloor heating, and the attention to detail in the restoration and maintenance of a building of this age and character is considerable. The Sarah Bernhardt Restaurant serves French and Czech cuisine in an elegantly decorated dining room, while Tony's Cafe, with its 1920s Parisian atmosphere, is open throughout the day for lighter dishes, pastries, wines, champagnes and cocktails. Wellness facilities including a sauna, jacuzzi and spa are complimentary for all guests. Prague main railway station is approximately 2km away, making arrival from the VSOE straightforward.

Aria Hotel Prague, Lesser Town

★★★★★

Aria Hotel Prague

Five Star

The Aria Hotel occupies a beautiful position in Lesser Town, the left-bank neighbourhood of Baroque palaces, cobbled streets and gardens that sits between the Vltava River and Prague Castle. It is a music-themed boutique hotel: its 51 rooms and suites are each dedicated to a specific musical genre or artist, with rooms named after Verdi, Mozart, Vivaldi, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra and others. Every room has a high-quality audio system, an iPad preloaded with curated music and a selection of vinyl. Music literature and recordings are available throughout the hotel and a screening room seats up to twelve guests. The hotel is a member of the Library Hotel Collection, the same group behind the Aria Hotel in Budapest.

The hotel has its own private entrance to the Vrtba Garden, Prague's oldest Baroque garden and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its own right: a terraced hillside garden with baroque sculptures, ornamental planting and one of the finest views of Prague's rooftops and towers. The CODA Restaurant offers refined dining with an exceptional rooftop terrace that becomes one of the most sought-after tables in Prague on a summer evening. Charles Bridge is a five-minute walk, Prague Castle five minutes in the other direction, and the Malostranska Metro station is around 700 metres away.

BoHo Prague Hotel, Old Town

★★★★

BoHo Prague Hotel

Small Luxury Hotels

The BoHo is a four-star boutique hotel and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, situated in the Old Town Stare Mesto district close to Republic Square, with Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock a short walk away and Wenceslas Square five minutes in the other direction. Built in 2015, it is a contemporary property in a city of historic architecture, and brings a clean modern design sensibility to a neighbourhood where most hotels are housed in older buildings. The 57 rooms are well-proportioned and well-finished, with all the amenities expected of a hotel at this level.

The hotel has an indoor pool, BoHo Spa with treatments available, a fitness centre, sauna, library and terrace. The restaurant serves European cuisine and the bar is a convivial place to end the evening. A complimentary area shuttle operates within the immediate neighbourhood. The BoHo's position is excellent for exploring Prague on foot: the Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge and the central shopping streets are all within comfortable walking distance, and Republic Square Metro station is approximately 150 metres away, giving easy access to both Prague main railway station and the airport.
